Maravagi is, after Tulagi, the second most popular location for diving in the Florida Islands. This true hideaway retreat is located at a sheltered bay on the northwestern tip of Mangalonga Island, separated from the other islands by the Tasou Pass. The place is exceptional beautiful with a shoreline rivaling the best in the world. There are no roads, no traffic, but still divers are treated with luxurious bungalows and excellent seafood dining.
There are many other activities in Maravagi besides scuba diving and snorkeling at its fringing coral reefs. There are some excellent surf beaches around the island, especially popular between December and April with constant northern winds and swells. You can explore old coconut plantations, hike towards Mount Panamnauvi and the Skull Cave or take a short walk to traditional Phillip's Village. You can book a motor canoes for your fishing trip or for a sightseeing tour towards Mana Island, Mbokonumbeta Island (Sandfly Island), Kovuhika Island, Soghonara Island or Buena Vista Island.
