Uepi Island, at the outer edge of the Marovo Lagoon, is one of the most remote regularly visited scuba diving location in the Solomon Islands.

Uepi Island, Western Province, is a small 2.5km long and 600meters wide island, located on the north side of the barrier islands between New Georgia Island and Vangunu Island. Blue oceanic waters are separated from green tropical rainforest with spectacular white beaches in between. The island forms together with Avavasa Island, Karikana Island and Matiu Island a barrier between the ocean and inner Marovo Lagoon, with 140km long said to be one of the largest lagoons in the world. Uepi Resort is the only developed place in the region, and also the place for all activity bookings. Whether you like to go kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling or on a cultural boat trip towards some of the nearby villages, you can arrange it at Uepi Resort.

Diving and snorkeling at the offshore house barrier reef, relaxing and swimming are the main activities in Uepi. Throughout the year, you can find hammerhead sharks, turtles, manta rays and almost all coral reef fish known in the waters of the Coral Sea. Nearby stunning dive sites are the Japanese wrecks in Wickham Harbor and many of the stunning drift wall dives on the passages and outer edges of the many lagoons. Most diving however is done offshore Uepi Island itself which boasts spectacular drop-offs, shark filled gutters and stunning coral gardens. It is remote diving at best in warm waters with excellent visibilities and a wide diversity of marine life.
